Developing resistance to the digital coup through tech infrastructuring can't be achieved simply by funding tech projects. The scope of what's required - the partnerships and capabilities required - implies a federation and not just a fund. Here we figure relationships between fund and federation.

The intention of the project federation then, is to to co-convene a confluence of concerns, and to facilitate a way - a financially mediated way - with labour 'paid-for' as well as 'free' - to mobilise and embody collective capability and desire, in systematically building infrastructure-for-resistance (and resilience and collective creativity) in the face of the Digital Coup. A basic tool of the Federation is a visualisation of a 'real full stack' of digitally mediated practice in the commons. It has tech layers but it also has social layers and, crucually, a planet layer. A real full stack

Geekery has lost the thread - and indeed, the free software economy is largely and very significantly enclosed by the regime of digital oligarchy. Notably, the world of Open Source software, where production and consumotion of software is 'free' because those involved are highly priviliged - whether individuals or businesses. > An example: the main repo (repository) of open source software - GitHub - was bought for $7.5bn in 2018 by Microsoft in a smart move from from 'Windows first' to digital enclosure. They now own and exploit a superb network of intelligence in the software sphere. As of summer 2025, Github is to be merged into the main stream of Microsoft business, no longer even nominally an 'outside' operation.

Here we frame the notion of 'a stack'. We deploy this quite fundamentally. Its a metaphor derived from the software world but here it's not basically about software: it's about 'layers' of social practice.
